This Poor Old Guy was one of two abandoned Poodles in a house, who was left to stave to death by their owners.

A good Samaritan brought their suffering to our attention after two weeks.
Diamond in the Ruff Rescue and Rehab, Inc took the two pets to seek immediate medical attention, but AC is involved. We have withheld the worst pictures, but are releasing a few to show the public the suffering these guys endured.

We are in desperate need of funding to help pay for the emergency vetting they both have received for their dehydration. Additional vetting will be done on Monday.

Both pets are emaciated, dehydrated, had eyes matted shut causing infection and ears blocked up with balls of wax, and hair so that the dogs could not hear. Both pets are male, but were unable to urinate properly, because they had huge mats hanging from their penises. Each time they urinated they burned themselves with their own urine. When we removed the mats, and both pets had bloody spots where the urine had burned their skin off.

Their body hair was so matted that they couldn't walk without the hair pulling the skin. Their nails where so long that when they walked the nails would tear from the toes, causing immense pain, some nails where even growing upwards because they were so long.

The older Poodle (the one in the pictures) was the worse of the two, because he could not eat. He only has two teeth and his lower jaw is mushy and soft from chronic infection. In addition to that his mouth was also matted shut. His weight is only 3 pounds instead of his normal 7-8 pounds. The other Poodle is five pounds instead of the normal 10 pounds he should be.

Emergency care for last night was $160. This covers the emergency call, vet exam and IV fluids for their dehydration. On Monday our regular vet is going to do a blood panel workup to check for any organ damage due to their starvation, urine tests and routine vet care such as HW checks and Fecals. We will also get all antibiotics and skin creams needed at this time.
